The first EuroMillions Superdraw of the year will go ahead on Friday 7th February, pushing the jackpot up to a guaranteed €130 million. You can also expect to see more big jackpots on the way after changes were made to EuroMillions.
It was announced in December that changes would come into effect from the start of February, with more money allocated to the top prize in every draw. This adjustment was made after the draw on Friday 31st January, in time for the game on Tuesday 4th February, and will lead to jackpots growing more quickly.

The jackpot cap has also gone up from €190 million to €200 million, laying the platform for a new record to be set for the largest prize in EuroMillions history. New rules also allow for the maximum jackpot to rise as high as €250 million in future.
How Superdraws Work
Superdraws, also known as Megadraws, are also set to take place more regularly. There have usually only been two a year, but there are expected to be three a year from now on. The first one under the new rules will take place on Friday.

Superdraws are special events which offer guaranteed nine-figure jackpots, regardless of how much the top prize was worth in the preceding draw or even whether it was won or not.
The money comes from the Reserve Fund, which receives a percentage of the prize fund in every draw. This percentage has been tweaked following the latest changes, so more money is likely to be available to pay for special promotions such as Superdraws. The jackpot will be catapulted up to €130 million for Friday’s Megadraw. If there are no winners, it will roll over as normal and an even larger amount will be put up for grabs in the following draw. It could even be that the new jackpot cap is activated in a matter of weeks.

Could Ireland Crown Another Big Winner?
Irish players have enjoyed a lot of success in Superdraws over the years, most notably 12 months ago. The jackpot rolled over from a Megadraw on 1st February 2019, eventually reaching €175 million on 19th February. A single ticket from County Dublin matched all the numbers, making a Naul family syndicate the biggest-ever winners of a lottery prize in Ireland.
Another Superdraw in October had to be postponed because the jackpot already exceeded the advertised amount. That was during a record-breaking run of 22 rollovers which finally ended when a UK ticket holder won €190 million.
